Health Minister in Israel Drops Fluoridation Requirement
Health Minister Yael German opposed forcing municipalities in Israel to fluoridate their drinking water. And in one year, they will not longer be required to fluoridate. However, pediatricians and dentists oppose the action, and think that removing the fluoride requirement will harm children's dental health.
Since 2002 it was required to fluoridate water in communities with at least 5,000 residents. But German opposed forcing residents to drink fluoridated water, and listed the alternatives including fluoride pills, toothpaste and dental health education.
If your community fluoridates their water (most do), and you don't want to fluoride, The Water Exchange sells inexpensive fluoride water filters.
The Fluoride Water Debate in Portland
4/11/2013. Portland Oregon is in the middle of a big debate on water fluoridation. A crowd crowded the Northwest Portland community center Wednesday night to debate the fluoride question: should they or should they not put fluoride in their city water. The Portland city council voted to add fluoride in the fall, but an anti-fluoride group got enough signatures to put the question on the ballet. People of Portland definitely don't want fluoride in their water because they voted it down the last 3 times. The fourth attempt will be in May.
If the vote happens to go the wrong way for the anti-fluoridation people of Portland, you can remove fluoride with our fluoride water filters from The Water Exchange.
